How we make sure you get the right hearing device.

Good morning. Scott Hyde here, from Beltone in Abbotsford, and I just wanted to show you something here – How we make sure you get the right hearing device.

I just take it for granted, sometimes, that people just know what happens when we program hearing aids, but many folks are surprised to learn what actually is involved. We do a hearing test for you, and when we do that hearing test we get something called an audiogram, and that is your actual ability to hear. Your hearing aids … It’s not one size fits all. They’re programmed specifically for you, and everyone is a little bit different.

We us this to fill your prescription. What we have is a computer program that we then use to connect to you hearing aids. We sit down with you, download these settings into the hearings aids.

Some people don’t like it right away, so we can tailor that specifically for you. That’s really important. Then, through a series of follow-up visits, we make sure that we’re getting everything we can out of these hearing aids for you, specifically.

Some people like them a little bit higher, some people like them a little bit lower, whatever. It’s always funny, sometimes people come back and say, “I really like my hearing aids, because I can hear my grandkids.” Other people come back and say, “I don’t like my hearing aids, because I can hear my grandkids.”

So, we have to tailor it just for you.
